OUR STORY

It all started when…

….a new Home Missions church was opened on February 10, 1974 in the city of Vancouver, British Columbia. Sunday School started with twelve in attendance. Pastor and Mrs. Simmons and family, under the appointment of Christmas for Christ, launched this new endeavour.

Maranatha Ministries is affiliated with United Pentecostal Church International. The church was called Vancouver United Pentecostal Church until the early '80s, at which time it was changed to Maranatha Tabernacle. In 1991, it was changed to Maranatha Ministries.

The ministers who have pastored this church have been Rev. Marvin Simmons, Rev. Terry Black, Rev. Edward Goddard, Rev. Ralph Reynolds and Rev. Larry Sims. Larry Sims was elected as pastor from February of 1989 until September of 2017.

Ps. Oneil Drysdale was elected to be the new pastor of Maranatha Ministries as of December 2018.
